NETWORK (AUDIO)

[She's panting, definitely out of breath, as the recording for her voice starts - still completely and utterly panicked and sounding as much.]

Someone pushed me into the gorram elevator!

[Even the curse, despite not using it, sounds a little weak, fear tinging every word.]

I can't get out and the woman that was hanging she's gone but she could come back someone please get me out!

LOG

Kaylee has always been someone true to her word - she meant it when she'd told Rikki that she was going to try and fix the elevator. And now that she's wearing a pair of overalls with a t-shirt, making it much easier to crouch and move about, she'd decided to do just that. For the most part Kaylee'd been sticking with Sandor since she'd woken up with, but the need to try and do something, to make herself useful in some way, had been too overwhelming. She had, though, taken care and ripped a strip from the ugly dress she'd been wearing, tying it on the handle of the door of the room that she'd been staying in...just to be safe rather than sorry before she'd set out.

In order to work on the elevator Kaylee needed a few things first, after all. Unfortunately, she hadn't managed to find exactly what she'd needed, but she'd found a rusty letter opener that she reckoned she'd be able to use in place of certain other tools. It'd, at least, help pry something open and maybe work to unscrew part of the panel.

The mechanic had figured it was worth a try, anyway, and she hadn't realized how wrong - or how bad venturing out today at all - was.

Whispers had followed her through the halls. Kaylee had dealt with that by humming and trying to ignore the peek of dresses and other various parts of figures darting around the corners in front of her. And now that she's leaned in front of the call button for the elevator she lines the tip up at an angle, beginning to remove the screws - all the while humming. It's the chill that runs down her back and the goosebumps that cause her to stop - looking over her shoulders at first. "Somebody there?" The petite woman calls out, waiting all of five seconds before beginning to turn back to her task - only to squeak out a startled yelp as the elevator doors ding and open in front of her. And the scream that rips from her throat isn't somethings he was prepared for - it rings through the area at the sight of the very dead woman in the very poofy dress hanging from her neck in the middle of the elevator.

Scrambling to stand, Kaylee whimpers as the woman opens her eyes and reaches for her. Once Kaylee's to her feet, letter opener clutched in hand, she turns to run only to come face to face with a man - an angry man in fancy clothes like everyone arrived on. "There's some lady on the-" She barely gets the words out before the man knocks her - hard - backward into the elevator. Her butt hits the floor first followed by her head making impact with the wall behind her. She's stunned for all of a second before her eyes widen watching the doors begin to close her in with the woman hanging from the ceiling. "No!"

Kaylee doesn't even have the time to scramble up before the doors slam shut and she watches with horror as various buttons light up and the elevator begins to heat up as it rises and rises before jolting to a halt as the woman above her kicks her feet, as if she's still struggling and not very much dead the way that she locked...with her neck at that odd angle. Terror is the only thing Kaylee feels as she scrambles nearer to the panel - jabbing the stop button and trying to stop the elevator somehow, someway, but the button doesn't seems to be working, nor the door open, nor any of them as she starts to press them. Feeling her panic rising Kaylee whimpers just before the lights in the elevator flicker and the whole thing begins to drop out from under her - blood curdling scream ripping from Kaylee as it falls and the....body, ghost - she's not even sure anymore -falls and the woman's open eyes and expression are suddenly pressed right into her face.

She's going to die. This elevator, this woman, they're going to kill her - Kaylee's almost sure of it as she slams her eyes shut and sobs right up until her breath is taken away by the sudden stop of the elevator. Eyes popping back open in shock....Kaylee realizes she's alone as the elevator rises to a floor and dings, but the doors don't open and the lights are dim as it just...sits there. Panting the mechanic gets up on her knees and presses the button to open the doors but there isn't a response. She jabs it repeatedly before moving to the elevator doors themselves, trying to pry them open to no avail. "HELP!" The scream is much more hoarse, much more pathetic, than Kaylee wants it to be, but she's shaking as she jabs the letter opener at the seam. She jabs herself in the process and makes no headway with the door.

"Get me out of here please!" Kaylee calls, shaking and sucking in deep breaths - her hand, her head, and even her butt hurting slightly as she looks around - there's no sign of the woman, but...could she come back? Kaylee doesn'tw ant to find out so she scrambles for her arm, she's got to get out of here, she doesn't want to take another ride. Or face any more ghosts....people...whoever they are.

She can't.
