[Betty hears that news and she can't help but feel sympathy - there's a tone, a warmth, to her voice as she responds that she can't help. She's met Ben, after all, in the padded room...and it makes her feel sorry because she can actually place a person with the name. Not that she doesn't think everyone here is real, but it makes it all that much more real.
