Sandor "the Hound" Clegane ([personal profile] morethanbark) wrote in [community profile] hellhouse2019-06-10 10:28 am

(no subject)

WHO: Sandor Clegane, Kaylee Frye, and Kate Danvers
WHAT: introductions and associated confusion
WHERE: second floor dining room
WHEN day 1, late morning

WARNINGS: Clegane has a mouth like a trucker, I'm sure other stuff will crop up too

Sandor wakes up with a start in a strange room with strange faces, sat in a chair at a table, a shout in his throat. He looks around with wary eyes, no trace of King's Landing, or what was left of it, in sight but something strung tight around his throat. It takes him a couple attempts to pull it off but he does eventually, throws the scrap of fabric onto the table with an irritated grumble. Nothing makes sense, which only succeeds in making him edgy, but when he moves to stand, there's no armor. No sword, only strange clothes made from strange fabric and a lingering feeling like all of this is Wrong.

He'd say it must be a dream, but it feels too real for that, and the only dreams he ever remembers are filled with fire. Everything's mixed up anyway.

The voice interrupts his ruminations, lays out everything, not that it's much. He can't find the source, although it's not for lack of trying, there's nobody else talking he can trace it to, only a box and that doesn't seem to make much sense. But it falls silent sooner or later.

Looking around the room, he sees two women seated at the table too, not that he recognizes either of their faces.

"Who in the seven hells are you?"

It seems that the decision is made for them all - Kaylee isn't going to stay put in this room all by herself. However, she isn't going to be able to do much in these shoes, so she takes a moment to slip them off - keeping them both in hand - and once her feet are flat on the ground, despite the dress that she's not too crazy about, she feels like she can manage. "I ain't staying here alone - I wanna get back to Serenity anyway." The comment is more to herself than her companions.

Kaylee certainly isn't going to let herself be left behind in this case. So, she brings up the rear of the group, pausing to turn around and grab a candleabra - it seems sturdy enough to whack somone if if she really finds that she needs to, after all. Her current companions seem more than comfortable with how they can handle themselves - she ought to at least try and help no matter how scared she is.

Peeking into the next room, Kaylee can't help but note the mess. "I wonder what happened in here...." Did someone who got into that room try to leave too? "You think this means someone's been here or is here still?" Maybe they tore the room up in a fit becuse they couldn't get out?

Maybe it's a reaver? Kaylee does her best to supress the shiver with that though, plus, there aren't any bodies mounted anywhere, no blood, none of the things that scream reaver, so...it should mean they're safe from that particular problem, anyway, but it does leave so many others open possibilities.

Had either of them bothered to look at Kate when Sandor pushed past her into the hallway, she would have been visibly annoyed. She could easily take care of herself, but there was zero point in debating that with him now. It was more important for all of them to get the hell out.

So she followed him into what she thought would be a hall, and ended up being a mess of a room. "Someones probably here." she replied to Katie. "Either watching us, or trying to keep us in." She was very sure she heard movement elsewhere. "Or maybe they're trapped too, who knows."

Couches, broken tables, beat up bed frames. Was this a broken furniture dumping ground or something? She didn't smell much of anything other than dust and dampness.

"No point in hanging around here." she said with a shrug, and made her way across the room to the next door, walking around or stepping over furniture as she went. "The sooner we get the hell out of dodge, the sooner I can track drown who pulled this off."

The mechanic can't quite suppress the shiver that comes at Kate's words. The Alliance is bad enough - the big bad watching everyone and spying and waiting to swoop in, but somehow the idea of someone watching them after putting them in this situation seems even worse. She can't quite put her finger on why, but it's probably got something to do with the state of the place, the fact that it ain't a ship (for Kaylee in particular), and what they've done to their arms.

"Well, if whoever is watching aren't the same people that put us here then they're in the same ship as us and we could work together." The optimism comes easy to Kaylee, despite the somewhat hard life she's lead both as a mechanic on a ship of smugglers as well as on the less than stellar planet that she was born on. She's always been like this - something both her Papa and Mal had always taken in stride, and even commented on (in a good way) from time to time.

It's thinking about the Captain that reminds Kaylee of what she wants to get back to - her family...and her Serenity. "Surely anybody else trapped here ain't intending on staying." Kaylee ventures, keeping back so that the other two can decide who is going where first - because she sure ain't. Ain't no power in the 'verse that would have her barreling headfirst into no room like that with just a candelabra no matter how much she's willing to work with and help out whoever else might be here.

She does, however, turn her attention to the blonde - tone curious. "After you get backup first, right?" The worry in her tone is easy - her companions don't seem terrified here so it's keeping Kaylee's own fear in check, but she's never been the kind of person that wants anybody to be unsafe. She likes people, so even if she doesn't know either of her companions...having backup - someone - to help with her revenge only seems best to her. That's what the captain would do, she figures, anyway.

She chose not to say anything to 'ladies first' and stepped toward the next room. She couldn't hear anything behind the door, which at least made her think they weren't about to run into anyone or anything nasty. So Kate reached for the handle, then paused.

Kate looked over to Kaylee and shrugged casually. "Yeah, my family will be pissed that I'm gone. They're probably already looking for whoever did it." And that person was going to need an angel to save them. Though she doubts an angel would.

Turning her attention back to the door, she pushes it open forcefully, causing it to hit against the wall. Only it doesn't make a sound, because before them is an entire room that is just one giant padded cell.

"Well," she says, the hairs on the back of her neck standing up. "That is a special level of distrubing."
