So, I found a wardrobe full of clothes in this room on the second floor. I have no idea how to explain to anyone how to get to it unless the house stops fucking moving, but if it were hypothetically to stay stationary for a hot minute, it's like two doors past the elevator if you're headed away from the smoky stairwell.

Come and get it, bitches. First come, first served and I already called dibs on some shit.

I am hungry, yes. I'll stay here and await your return in case the rooms change again. I know you don't think we ought to spend all our time together but I am concerned about the nature of this place. I hope my company isn't so terrible that you won't tolerate it for a bit.

( Sansa says it with a bit of a smirk. She tries to be as amenable as she can, truly, but it is a mask for her fear. This place reminds her of having been trapped in Winterfell with Ramsay. No torture, no, but she feels evil emanating from the walls, a sinister chill that permeates everything. She wants the company. )

I mean, I don't want to spend every minute together, but there's safety in numbers and I think it would be better for us both if we at least touched base on the daily and kept an eye out for one another at night. Plus yeah, this place moves, so I'll never find this room again without help. It works if you stay here and I can come back with food.

[ As he moves toward the door, he grins, rolling his eyes. Jared looks over his shoulder and smirks at her. ]

Besides, Babes, you're about the only person who'll put up with my shit for more than a couple of minutes without getting bored. I kind of have to keep you.

[ With that, he slips out into the hall only pausing to poke his head back in and say quickly, ]

If I'm not back in an hour, send in the cavalry.

( Sansa doesn't know what calvary to send, considering their numbers are few here in the house, but she waits as she's been bid. She may be a queen now and beholden to no man but she isn't so taken with her title as to not listen to reason - that would be the fallacy that spelled doom for House Targaryen and House Lannister and she refuses to have it be the end of House Stark.

She stays perched on one of the beds and when the door pushes back in, Sansa is quick to stand, going forward to meet Jared. )

Here, let me help you with the food. It'll be easier with another set of hands.

( It would seem that the house is in a good mood today, Jared thinks, because it isn't moving around so much. The trip to and from the pantry would've been a lot shorter if he hadn't had to look on other floors for another pantry because the one he'd come across had rotting food in it and he'd rather starve than try to pick through the nasty shit to find any potential fresh food hiding behind it.

When he gets back, she stands, ready to help out and he smiles a little to himself. This actually isn't so bad, actually. It's a little triggering to have someone so willing to jump in and help out, because that part of her personality reminds him so starkly of Ems, but it's not the same. Sansa is not head over heels in love with him and he's not in love with her and she isn't going to get pregnant, run off, and never talk to him again.

...that was then. This is now. This is not even in the same ballpark, but it's just that quickness to stand and offer to help him out, something Ems used to do all the time that throws him off for a second and hurls him down memory lane. He's bitter and upset that she left like that and probably didn't even have the baby, but moreover he actually misses having a relationship with a woman that matters to him as much as Ems did and maybe that's scary. Maybe just something as simple as Sansa being nice to him without fawning over him or being constantly coy is enough to remind him that such relationships can and do exist in the world and he misses that sort of connection with women.

It doesn't matter. This is survival. So he gives her a smile, shakes away his thoughts entirely, and starts to hand off some of the findings. )

All right, let's ration this stuff out so it'll last in case the house gets finicky again. Then, we feast.

Luckily for you, I know how to ration for winters that last for years. I think I can ration for a few days or a week.

( It doesn't take her long to get a plan together and start sorting the food that Jared has found. This is what she's good at and what she feels confident in - and it's something she can help teach Jared as well. )
